VIC:Man dies in fire on converted bus

Arson Squad detectives will investigate the death of a man in a fire on a converted
bus in East Gippsland.

Police say the 39-year-old was asleep in the rear section of the bus parked on private
property in Riverslea when a fire broke out around midnight (AEST).

Two other men sleeping in the front section were woken by the smell of smoke and escaped
.. then tried to break the rear window to get the other man out.

Other people on the property also helped but they were unable to save the man.

Two of the would-be rescuers were taken to the Sale Hospital in Victoria's east suffering
from burns and smoke inhalation.

A crime scene has been established and Arson Squad detectives will arrive later this morning.
